As a result of a grant secured through the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Leadership Tallahassee collaborated with Collegia in order to conduct a student on Growing Tallahassee’s College Educated Workforce.

The goals of the project were to:

• Identify a baseline college graduate retention figure for the Tallahassee region;

• Gain a better understanding of why graduates choose to stay or leave the community;

• Develop integrated recommendations with existing community projects to leverage and enhance Tallahassee’s creative community.

By gaining awareness of where our community is now in regards to graduate retention; learning more about current student impressions; partnering with students, community, colleges, government and employers; and connecting the dots, Leadership Tallahassee was able to identify common characteristics and perceptions among students and develop suggested strategies, messaging, stakeholders and potential project partners.
